What Happens in Vegas

After my brother's wedding I dropped the kids off at my mother-in-laws and headed to Vegas for a kid free girls vacation with my mom, sister and sis-in-law. My mom does this every year to get out of cold and get a little sun, since I have plenty of sun I was in it for the 3 days of no whining children.
We stayed in the flamingo which was the perfect location on the strip and our room was on the top floor and we had an awesome view of fountains at the Bellagio. Yes that is my sister impersonating a flamingo.
We slept in, ate lots of food, went shopping, lounged by the pool, got hit on by some 25 yo boys at the karaoke bar, and saw many of the fun thing on the strip.
We played the slots a little and my mom put in a dollar and won $51, I won $8 in quarters but lost a total of $10 which was my limit.
We got henna tattoos on Freemont Street (which is also where I won my quarters they don't give you quarters on the strip just a ticket).
This picture has not been edited this was the awesome sunset as we came out of ceasers palace. I wanted to get a better picture from our room but it was gone by the time we made back to our room.
After 3 days my mother-in-law brought the kids down to Vegas and we took them to lunch and to a big aquarium. Too bad it wasn't the weekend they have mermaid shows in this aquarium. It was nice to have a little break, but I was excited to get back to hanging with my kids until the whining started. I still can't determine if they just seemed extra whinny because I had a break or if they were spoiled by grandma, either way I am thinking a girls trip is a must every year.

Eggs, Sand, and food poisoning?

(April 23-May 4) Thought I better caught up on blogging before another year past.
This year for easter the kids and I had a trip planned to my grandparents and then a trip to AZ to find a house. Since we were going to be gone the Easter Bunny visited a day early. We colored eggs on Friday night and left our baskets out for the Easter bunny.
The next morning we searched for our baskets
and found them full of yummy treats. Addi wasted no time digging into her chocolate.
Then daddy took us to the airport. I don't know what I was thinking traveling that far (NYC to San Luis with a layover in Phoenix) by myself with that much stuff. Note the long hair. First I left my phone in the car and Jared drove off with me trying to run after him but trying to not leave my kids to far behind. I then had to find a pay phone to call Jared to come back with my phone. After getting my phone and checking all our luggage we found out that our flight was delayed and we were going to miss our connecting flight in phoenix where we were meeting up with my mom. I was standing in line to find out my options and when I was the next person in line I realized Addi was no longer next to me and I had to get out of line to find her. I found her not to far away and got back in line. Again when I was near the front of the line Addi had to go to the bathroom bad, so I again had to get out of line. By the time we made it back from the bathroom they were boarding and I had to get on the plane not knowing how I was going to be getting from Phoenix to San Luis since there was no more flight from phoenix.
Despite having more stuff than I could carry plus 2 kids, Addi running ahead of me and getting on the plane with some random people and then not wanting to come sit by me the kids were fine on the plane, thank goodness for portable DVD player. Luckily my mom was able to miss the connecting flight get us all flights for the morning, book a hotel for the night, and be there at the gate with a luggage cart. I was so relieved since I hadn't been able to call her on the plane and was told that they wouldn't let my mom miss her connecting flight without paying a fee.
After an Easter breakfast at the hotel and an uneventful fight we made it to my grandparents home. However by the time we arrived I was extremely sick with a high fever and spent the rest of the day in bed and missing all the festivities, but my cousin was there to take pictures of the kids. The next day my grandma had a doctors appointment and since her doctor comes to her ( I didn't know there was still doctors that made house calls) he was able to check me out and get me some meds so my vacation wasn't completely ruined so I thought.
After I was starting to feel better we took a trip to Avila Barn and fed the animals and Aidan had his first taste of ice cream.
And we took a trip to the beach. We stopped at Taco Bell for lunch which turned out to be a very bad decision. Later that night Addi started to throw up and within a half hour everyone in the house was throwing up. Needless to say the next couple of days were spent laying around with buckets for everyone except for Aidan since her hadn't eaten anything at Taco Bell. So despite getting over bronchitis I still ended up sick for most of the trip.
Remember my long hair from the beginning of this post well I had my mom cut it all off and I like it so much better short.
We recovered from our vomiting just in time for my great grandmas 95th birthday and took her out to dinner which was probably our first meal in a few days. Sadly that was the end of our week in CAlifornia and even thou we didn't get to do much if I had to be sick on vacation at least it was at my favorite place. We then went onto our next leg of the trip AZ to find a house to live in. It was a ruff go at first but luckily we got a house on our last day which was a good thing because if I was going to spend my whole vacation sick I needed to at least accomplish the one thing we came for.
This is defiantly how we all felt after a long week and a half. Thanks to my mom for all her help and lets hope we are welcome back to my grandparents again after what we brought.

Build-a-Bear Adventure

The day after my brothers wedding we met Jared's brother Scotty at build-a-bear and let the girls build a bear. This was Addi's first trip to build-a-bear.
Addi picked a white bear, named it squishy and dressed it in a princess shirt and pink shorts despite my efforts to get her to pick the cupcake outfit (she had a cow when I tried the outfit on squishy). After the bears we were walking around the gateway and came upon radio Disney celebrating platypus day. The girls joined in in a hula hoop type musical chairs game and Addi won a pass to the children's museum. It turned out to be a very eventful day especially since we had no plans at the beginning of the day. Thanks for letting us crash your special outing Tatum.
As a side note this is my first time publishing from my phone and I don't know how to arrange the photos so they may be out of order.

Ethan is Married!

Last Friday my little brother Ethan got married. He married a girl named Valorie whom I met the night before briefly.
They got married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple and it was freezing and snowing and the kids did not enjoy the picture taking and Aidan will be wearing a bright yellow rain jacket over his suit in all of their pictures. I was not prepared for the cold and the snow. Living in AZ has completely thrown off my climate tolerance. I forgot that March is not spring and the 30 degrees is indeed cold and requires a coat.
The love birds were almost an hour late for their own luncheon we went ahead and started without them.

Aidan really enjoyed his lunch Addi only ate her chips dipped in her water.

With the nieces and nephews.

Addi wanted her picture taken with her silly faces.

We had a fun time at the reception. The kids liked all the desserts and running around with their cousins. I embarrassed myself dancing with my sisters.

I think Ethan and Valorie enjoyed themselves as well.

Someone changed the letters around on the sign outside the reception.
