The New Baby!

We're the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl. Momma and baby are doing great. She was born 8:26a this morning, weighed 7lb 11oz, and was 20.5 inches long.

April Fools

April Fools! Jessica is being induced right now! I'm freakin' out. Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers. It will probably be a long night but I will try and keep everyone posted.

Another failed test

So apparently our baby does not like Tuesdays. Today I had another appt and another NST which she failed again just like last Tuesday (she did ok on friday) they couldn't get me an appt with ultrasound until the afternoon so they were going to have me go to work and then come back at 2 but then when I had my appt. with my midwife I still had protein in my urine and my blood pressure was high so she sent me to labor and delivery for long term monitoring until I could get in with ultrasound. In Labor and delivery the baby still did not want to move. She must have been content where she was. I had probably been there for 45 min before Jared showed up. he decide that he should say a pray. Almost immediately after Jared got there and said the pray she started moving all over the place. Apparently she just needed to here her daddies worried voice. So they kept me for another hour just to make sure that she was ok and to see what my labs were like. they decided that since she started moving they didn't need the ultrasound so they let me go home but I have to do another 24 hour urine test which is always fun. Unless that test comes back bad (in which case they will start me sooner) they are going to start me on monday night so she will only be about 5 days early.

Stubborn Baby

I went in for my regularly scheduled 37 week appt and was there for 3 hours. All my test results were fine. I had 254 mg of protein in my urine still not to that 300 mg mark. They did another NST (non-stress test) and the baby did not want to cooperate. They tried the radio ago and having me drink Juice. She was moving but her heart rate wouldn't go up high enough for her to past the test. They decided to do an ultra sound which I was excited for since I haven't seen her since 20 weeks. She is still a she and is already quite big she is estimated to be 7 lbs 15 oz which is in the 90%. She also has hair which we got a picture of but it is hard to tell in the picture. Everything looked good. They were trying to see her move. They give the baby 30 min to move 3 times or they fail. She was really good at practice breathing, but she would move. Our little girl finally passed with 2 min left she was just being stubborn and wanted to make us wait the whole 30 min. They were about to send me up to labor and delivery for long term monitoring. I am really glad they didn't because it was already past 2 pm and I hadn't had lunch yet and they don't let you eat up in labor and delivery.

Trip to Labor and Delivery

So I had my first experience in Labor and delivery today. During church I started to get a headache in the front of my head and was feeling nauseated so we went home and I called the midwife on call because I was told if I had any number of symptoms to call and she had me go get evaluated at labor and delivery. We were there for 2 1/2 hours being monitored while we waited for my labs to come back. My labs were fine and the baby was still doing good so they let me go home but I am doing another 24 hour urine test. The good news is that I am already dilated to a one possibly a 2 so maybe I will just go into labor on my own. Here hoping for a spring break baby.

Newest baby News

So I went back to the Dr again today and had another non stress test to monitor the baby. The baby was good and very active today. My blood pressure was pretty good and I didn't have any protein in my urine so apparently everything is fine and I go back on Tuesday so no baby yet. Now that I am already I just want her here and to not be pregnant anymore. My midwife is having me use evening primrose oil to get my cervix ready incase they have to induce me next week so we will see what happens between now and Tuesday.

Baby Update

I went to the dr again today and I am still only border line preeclampsia so for now they are just watching me closely to see if anything progresses. I have to go in twice a week and they are going to to non stress test once a week to monitor the baby to make sure that she is ok. After what the dr told me friday I freaked out because I wasn't ready for a baby. I went through the cloths that she got while we were home for christmas and had hardly anything 0-3 months mostly just sleepers. I had no onsies or socks so we took an emergency trip to target and got some onsies and socks and newborn diapers. I felt much better after that and packing my bag. I also got myself mentally prepared to have a baby. Jared says now that I am ready to have the baby everything will be fine and it will be a long 4 weeks until my due date.

baby next week?

So we maybe having a baby next week. I had my 36 week appt yesterday and my blood pressure was high and didn't come down very much after I had been laying down and I had protein in my urine so they are doing test to see if I have preeclampsia. I get to be pretty much on bed rest all weekend which means I didn't get to go see my friend in chicago this weekend sorry Jennise. I have to go back to the dr on monday and if it has progressed they are going to induce me because the only way to stop it is to deliver. Luckily my midwife did let me go to work for a little while on friday so I could wrap things up in case I don't come back next week.
So we will see what happens this weekend and maybe we will have a baby next week and maybe she will decide to stay in there a little longer.

Carrot Cookies

Every year growing up when we got carrots from our garden my mom would make carrot cookies. I had never made them before until I got pregnant and a couple of months ago I started craving them so I had to ask my mom for the recipe. So tonight I am making carrot cookies and thought I would share the recipe with all of you.

1 cup grated carrots boiled in 1 cup water
Cream together:
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortning (sometimes I'll use butter)
1 whole egg
Add drained carrots

Mix in:
2 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Drop from spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake @ 375 degrees for about 8 min. until done (not brown)

Frosting:
softened butter
powdered sugar
juice from an orange (I use lemon juice)

Dancing Baby

I think our baby is going to be a dancer. At church today whenever we were singing or the piano was playing she would start moving and then stopped when the music stopped.

Good Oral Hygiene

I have always brushed my teeth, but have never been good about flossing my teeth. I have had many cavity in my life and most of them are because I didn't floss. Then I married Jared who is obsest with flossing his teeth. I learned to carry around floss because Jared was always asking me for some so I would carry it in my purse in my car and I have some in my night stand. I still never was that good at flossing until I got pregnant and had problems with bleeding gums and then ended up getting a root canal. Now I floss my teeth pretty much everyday and am now starting to get addicted to flossing my teeth. So my our family is a flossing family and as you can see even Tito enjoys good oral hygiene.
