For the Grandmas
I am good for Daddy
Graduation
Last weekend I graduated with my Masters in Forensic Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University. For those of you that don't already know for 2 years I would drive 4.5 hours to Lincoln, NE for class every other weekend. It was a long drive but you get use to it. The only problem is I spent all that time and money and I am a stay at home mom and I may never use my degree. Oh well I had fun and at least my kids can pretend to have a cool mom that can do all the stuff they see on CSI (at least the stuff that can really be done, not everything on CSI is real).

I don't want to wear the hat daddy

Mommy Creations
Some of you may have noticed that there is a link on our side board to a new blog. The other night when I couldn't sleep I decided I was going to start a blog where I can post about the things I make whether it is quilting, scrapbooking, cooking, jewelry, or whatever other hobby I pick up. Feel free to check it out and get ideas. There is not much on it right now but I do have a bunch of links for different craft sites. On another note I learned how to make blog backgrounds. Let me know what you think. I think I like the one on my mommy creations blog better.

More car troubles
so as you may have seen Jared's car was totaled and we had to take it to the junk yard. Well now that we only have one car it has started to act up. In the last 2 months we have had to get our car jumped 6 times and the majority of those times Jared was not with me. Jared has taken it to get checked out twice and they say nothing is wrong with the battery or alternator, but apparently something is wrong and I am getting tired of asking strangers at the grocery store if they can jump me (my car).

Another long car ride
We went to lincoln again this weekend for my graduation (picture to come soon). Addilyn did pretty good on the ride there. She lasted until about Omaha, but screamed between Omaha and Lincoln and of course there is like 20 miles with no exit so we just had to let her scream because we didn't want to stop on the side of the free way and get her out for safety reasons. She did great during the graduation and was very good for daddy. On the way home we had to stop 4 times and there was a lot of crying. Before this trip Addi like the car as long as it was moving but now I don't think she likes it so much. Yesterday I had a doctors appointment and she cried all the way to the doctors, but was perfectly fine while we were at the doctors and then screamed the whole way home until she fell asleep. Today we went to the library and she did fine on the way to the library, but did not like the ride home. Rolling down the window calmed her cries for a few min, but not for long. I hope this is not trend and I haven't scared her for life or I won't be able to go anywhere. We usually drive to Michigan for thanksgiving which is a 8 hour drive so hopefully she starts to like the car and hopefully the airplane doesn't remind her of the car because we are flying to California in a month just Addi and me.

Five things about Addilyn
Addilyn was tagged by Brunson and so here are 5 things about Addi.
1. She is a pooper! I have never known someone to poop so much. She will poop while I am changing her poopy diaper. We always know when she is pooping because she always stops whatever she was doing (i.e. eating) gets all red in the face and the vein on the left side of her head pops out.
2. She sees angels, or at least that what we say. She will just stare into space not looking at anything that we can see and start smiling. She smiles at the angels more than she smiles at me. Yesterday she started to talk to them.
3. She is apparently a good sleeper for her age. She usually follows a schedule at night. She eats at 10 or 11 and then sleeps until 2 or 3 and is up for an hour and then sleeps until 6 in the morning.
4. She is a spitter. We have to keep her upright for at least 30 min after she eats and she still spits up. Sometimes she spits up out of her nose and that makes her really mad. Sometimes she chokes on her spit and scares mommy. She has stopped breathing twice since we have been home from the hospital.
5. She is the cutest baby ever! I couldn't have asked for a cuter baby. Her cuteness and sweetness comes in handy when mommy gets frustrated.

Happy Mothers Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers and future mothers. I Just wanted everyone to know why I love my mom and why I love being a mother.
Why I Love my Mom
1. My mom is my best friend
I tell my mom everything. When I was younger my mom didn't have to worry too much about what I was doing because she knew that I would always tell her. Now that I am older and have moved far away I call her almost everyday especially now that I am a mom myself.
2. She is a strong Faithful Women
When I was 4 and my brother was two my dad left my mom to raise 2 young children by herself. She did a wonderful job at raising us right and making sure we knew right from wrong. My mom did the best she could at making sure we stayed strong in the church and that we had everything we needed and we never knew we were poor or different and I think we turned out just fine (or at least I did).
3. She is a thrifty shopper
I definitely got my love of thrift shopping from my mother. My mom can find the best stuff for cheap at D.I. why buy something new when you can get it for way cheaper. This is a skill that comes in handy when your husband is in Dental school and you don't make any money. Addi has alot of stuff and cloths but I did not pay full price for any of it.
4. She is crafty and is a good decorator
Another love/skill my mom has past down is her craftiness. This also is useful when you don't have much money, because then I can make lots of things. My mom helped me make the curtains and pillows for Addi's room and they are very cute, thanks mom. My mom is also a good decorator and her house is always so cute. She has so much stuff (that she got from thrift shopping) that her house is different every time I go home.
There are many more things great about my mother that I can't list here, but I think you all get the idea of how great she is. I Love you mom and can't wait until we get to see you again.
Why I love being a mom
I have only been a mom for 6 weeks, but I love it. I have the cutest funnest baby ever. I may not have to get up to go to work anymore but I still have to get up to work, but it is worth it. It is easier to get up for something you love so much. Addi gets more aware everyday. She is now smiling and talking which makes it even better. I am so grateful that I am able to stay home and raise my baby and I am sure that being a mom will get better everyday.
I love you Addi and am so glad that I get to be your mommy.

Baby Blessing
Addi was blessed today by her daddy. Jared did a very good Job. Jared's family came out for the blessing and to see the baby. Addi just started to take a pacifier last night. Just in time, because she was getting fussy just before the blessing. The bishop had to hold the pacifier in her mouth so she wouldn't cry. She was so pretty. Grandma Susan made the blanket, Grandma Peggy brought her the bow and mommy made her bracelet.
Carnival
Even Tito got to come. He loves all the little kids and they usually like him.

Lincoln and Tulips

I found out last week that I had to go present my research (which is not done)in Lincoln on Saturday. So I was busy last week making a power point presentation while holding or feeding a baby. We spent most of our days last week in bed with the labtop. The presentation went ok I should have practiced more. I get so nervous when I have to talk in front of people. The drive to Lincoln took a little longer then it use to now that we have a baby. We had to stop a couple of times to feed her and change her diaper. Luckily she likes the car so she would sleep, but to much of a good thing is not always good, I think she got tired of being in her carseat all the time. On the way home we stopped at the Tulip Festival in Pella. It was nice to see all the flowers even though we did not get to stay long. Addi was not very happy and she would not take the bottle very good, so I ended up breastfeeding her on a park bench. I am sure I got a lot of looks, but what are you suppose to do when your child is screaming and doesn't want her bottle and beside I was covered up with a blanket.

Tummy Time
My mommy makes me have tummy time everyday. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. When I don't like it I get really mad and almost push myself up on my hands and knees because I am so mad. I got to have tummy time outside while daddy was bbq and I really liked it. I hope we have more days like today so I can have more tummy times outside.
Thanks Great Grandma

What's so funny
Today is the third day in a row that Addi has laughed in her sleep. I don't know what is so funny must be something in her dreams but it funny to she her laughing. I haven't got her to laugh while awake but she did start smiling at us. Yesterday Dede was hanging out with us and she started doing a dance she learned and Addi decided she liked it and she started to smile.
