Sewing day

On Wednesday in California I spent most of my day sewing. Everyone else in the family including Jared was expected to arrive the next day and I wanted to make Addi a dress for our Hawaiian themed party we were having for my grandparents. My grandma had a bock of old Hawaiian shirts and moomoos and some hawain fabric so I raided the box tofind something I could make Addi's dress out of. I found enough material to make Addi a dress and me a matching maternity skirt.






I also had to finish u the quilt that I was putting together for my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversay. Everyone in the family made a quilt square and I put it together.

Day on the Beach

We made it to the beach on a coule different occcasions. Our first one on tuesday did notquite go as planned. Addi was having fun collecting rocks and shells. The tidewas going out and she kept going out further and further. I leaned over to roll up my pants sothey wouldn't get wet when a wave came and knocked Addi from her feet. She face planted it right into the sand and water. I then forgot about caring if my pants werewent and dashedout to get her she had flipped herself over but still had amouth full of sea water. I picked her up and slapped her back to get her to spit it out. Then Aunt Marilyn was there with a towel and saved the day. Addi did not care that it was mommy that saved her from the big wave, but she remembered Aunt marilyn there with a towel and some extra clothes (even if they were boy clothes) and Aunt Marilyn was her favorite person the rest of the day. A few days later on Friday we ventured back to the beach with papa and Uncle Mark. Addi was content singing her songs playing in the dirt. She did brave up enough to get close to the water with uncle Mark, but as soon as the water hit her feet she started to freak out. I may have traumitized my baby.

Monterey Bay

Yesterday we drove up to Monterey to me my old college roommate who now lives in Sacromento. We took the kids to The aquarium and they had a blast. Addi loved the fish and loved seeing them with her friend Brunson and baby Tate. After the aquarium we played on the beach and took baby Tate's 6 month pictures. Then we ate at Bubba Gumps and I got my cocunut shrimp I had been craving. My cousin Ashley came to help me with Addi and she was tons of help and Addi loves her. I have tons of pictures so her you go, they won't be in any particular order because I am to tired to care right now, but we are having tons of fun and never want to leave.

We Made It!

In case you were wondering I did survive my 15 hour trip to California alone with Addi. Addi was surprisingly good especially since she didn't sleep. We got to the Hartford airport around noon on saturday and finally made it to Grandma and grandpa's house at midnight (3 am CT time). Addi was so excited that she couldn't sleep. We had a total of 3 flights. I thought she would for sure fall a sleep on our 5 hour flight from Chicago to San Fransico, but at first she was so fasinated with the big plane and the TVs at every seat and the people sitting around us that she was bouncing off the wall. Luckily there was a few extra seats so Addi got her own seat to herself. She played games and watched movies on daddy's ipod good thing her let us bring it.

Then she watched disney channel on her own little TV in the seat in front of her while mommy got to watch a movie. There was many snacks and books and toys and the poor guy across the isle picked up many of them that Addi either dropped or threw on the floor. Going to the bathroom on the flight with a toddler was a little easier then I expected and I didn't get to nausea. We had two long layovers but Addi had fun taking up all the floor space with her colering book and crayons.

On the last flight we were on a tiny little prop plane again Addi was in love with the plane and the people around us. She was so good despite it being so late and having no sleep. When we landed I told her Manma and papa were waiting for her she jump right out of her seat and wanted off the plane even though we were still moving. Addi reconized and loved her great grandma and grandpa from the moment she saw them and when she woke up at 4:30 am she was not crying for me but for her manma.

I'm so Glad When Daddy Comes Home

I'm so glad when daddy comes home, Glad as I can be; Clap my hands and shout for joy, Then climb upon his knee, Put my arms around his neck, Hug him tight like this, Pat his cheeks, then give him what? A great big kiss.
It is no secret that Addi loves her daddy and everyday when he comes home from workit is exactly how the song goes, she claps her hands and shouts for joy. Every morning the first thing she asks me is wheres daddy, so when daddy gets her out of bed it is a grand day. While he may not have gotten a 2 week Christmas break we did get himfor2 long weekends. First 4 days over Christmas and then 3 days over new years. Addi was in heaven. So what do we do when daddy is home for so long?

Put stickers all over daddy.
Play sleeping beauty
And have a tea party.
These are just a few of the things Addi does when her daddy comes home.

Bringing in the New Year

This year we brought in the New Year in style with a dance party. Addi really enjoyed herself and then didn't want to go to bed. We shouldn't have let Addi dance with Tito, because now she follows Tito around yelling dance dance. Here is a little taste of what our dance party was like.

A Very Merry Christmas

We had a very merry Christmas here in CT. This was our first Christmas by ourselves. I thought I would be sad not being with family, but while I missed them just having the 3 of us was very relaxing. Addi got up at about 8:30 am and didn't quite know what to think about all the presents under the tree. She took her time opening her presents and had to stop and play with each present as she opened them. It took her about 2 hours to open all her presents we had to even take a break to eat breakfast. Later in the morning we skyped my parents so that we could be part of the call to my brother on a mission. The rest of the day we played and took a nap and then went over to some friends house. Over all it was a very nice relaxing Christmas. Enjoy Addi's Christmas video.
