Happy 3rd Anniversary

Two days ago on July 29th was our 3 year wedding anniversary. I am so glad we got married and that we are still very much happily married. For our anniversary Jared took me to a nice restaurant downtown called One Twenty Six. We ended up running into another couple we know the Edwards who have the same anniversary as us. For desert we had the gooey chocolate cake that I made and decorated with chocolate covered strawberries. To celebrate our anniversary I thought I would post some of our wedding pictures.
Which of our moms look happier about us getting married?
At least we both seemed happy about it. I think we are just giddy with love.
I love this picture because Jared was just starring at me during the ceromony and sometimes the Bishop had to tell Jared to look at him every once in awhile so he knew that Jared was listening.
What are they doing? It looks like my sisters were really happy to be standing up front.
For our reception we had a fun dance party and Jared really got into this dance. If you look at my sister Alissa in the background she always looks like she is trying to figure out what we are doing.

This is us with my little sister Alissa watching Jared's parent singing. Notice Jared's awesome shoes. He had to pay more to get the cool tennis shoes that went with his tux.
We got married on my brother Ethan's birthday. So also Happy 18th birthday to Ethan!

Addi is 4 months old

My baby is now 4 months old. She is getting so big so quickly. She had her 4 month check with more shots and all on friday. She was so cute with the doctor and nurses. She was talking and smiling and laughing at them. The doctor said she didn't even need to ask the developmental questions because Addi was doing all of them for her she even almost rolled over on the exam table. Addi weighed 13 lbs 4 oz (50%) and was 25 in long (75%).
Addi got a new toy and she loves it. She likes to be able to walk. I am afraid I may be chasing her around sooner than I expected.
My baby loves to watch TV. She isn't a very good napper so on the days she refuses to take a nap I let her watch a little TV so I can get something done like eat my lunch. She thinks Barney is hilarious and she likes her baby einstien videos grandma sent her. She also thinks she can fit both of her fist in her mouth at the same time.
My baby can roll over all by her self. Yesterday I left her in the room for a min while I grabbed some breakfast. While I was in the kitchen I heard her yelling out. I thought she just wanted some attention, but when I got back to the room she was on her tummy (she hates her tummy thats why she was yelling) I missed her rolling over but she did it for me again. Last night when daddy got home we tried to do it for him and get it on video but she couldn't get her arm out from under her and would just flip back over.
Addi has never liked being on her tummy but she likes it a little if you tickle her back. She is just like her mommy.
On sunday for Addilyn's 4 month birthday we celebrated by giving her baby oatmeal. She loved it! She didn't spit any of it out.
Addi is not a good nap taker. This is her asleep on my yoga mate finally at 2 in the afternoon and she only slept for 20 min. I thought that maybe since she didn't get a good nap she would sleep better last night. We fed her baby cereal, gave her a bath with nighttime bath soap, gave her a baby massage, read her a bedtime story and sang her a song. She went to bed really good and I thought that for sure she woul sleep longer than 6 hours but I was wrong, she only slept for 5 hours. She woke up at 1am, 4am, 5am, and then at 7:30am. Luckily I went to bed early last night because I could go back to sleep after she went back to bed at 1:30am and I finally fell asleep and she woke back up 15 min later. I tried to see if she could soothe herself back to sleep but after 10 min of crying I went and got her. I guess we will try again.
Addi loves when her daddy is home and he gets to read her a bed time story.

Tito's new bed

This is where I found Tito sleeping last night when we were getting ready for bed, in Addi's dirty laundry basket. I wonder if it was just a comfy place to sleep or if he likes the smell of Addi and was missing her. I am sure if we didn't keep Addi's door closed while she was sleeping Tito would jump in the crib and sleep with her. When Tito hears Addi wake up from her nap he gets all excited and follows me in her room and jumps in her crib to help me get her out. Tito always tries to get her to play with him, but she doesn't play back. I wonder if he will feel the same about Addi when she is big enough to start pulling his hair.

Bed Time Routine

We recently start a bed time routine to see if it will help Addi go to bed better. We feed her, read her a book and then sing her a song as we lay her down in her bed. It seems to be working. She doesn't cry more than 5 min. Last night Jared decided he wanted to add something to this routine, so he brushed her teeth (really her gums because she doesn't have any teeth) before he read her a bed time story. I guess its never to early to get them started with good oral hygiene.

Alissa Nicole Keep

October 20, 2000 - July 6, 2008

My sweet little sister was taken in a traumatic car accident 2 weeks ago. Although this is very sad that she was taken at such a young age I find comfort in knowing that she was a perfect spirit. Being only 7 years old she was not to the age of accountability and thus I know that she is in heaven with our heavenly father. Alissa was a sweet fun loving girl. She loved animals. If all dogs really do go to heaven Alissa is up there loving them all including her Scottie dog Hannah (named after Hannah Montana) who we think was also killed in the crash. Although Alissa was a girly girl she could hold her own with the boys. Alissa was a little dare devil from the time she was a little baby. We had her 1st birthday party at a rec center. We went down to the pool. I was in charge of Alissa. I thought that she who just play in the ankle deep water, but I was wrong. Alissa one year old and barely able to water ran straight out into the pool father than she could touch. I had not yet changed into my swim suit and had to go after her still in my jeans. A couple years later my dad took my brother and sister to Hawaii (they have been to Hawaii several times and I have never been, not that I am bitter:)) Alissa decided that she wanted to swim in the deep end so she went and jumped in the deep end. My dad knowing that she did not know how to swim jumped in after her. After he grabbed her and brought her up out of the water she told him "daddy I don't know how to swim".

The weekend before the accident I was able to spent the weekend with my family including Alissa. She was so excited to meet Baby Addilyn (thats what she calls Addi). We kept asking her if she wanted to hold baby Addilyn and she would say she wanted to but then when I put her on her lap she would get scared and not want to hold her so she just sat on the bed next to her and talked with her.

Alissa was 4 ears old when Jared and I got married and she was our flower girl. She was so cute. During the ceremony she was standing up in the front by me and my bride maids. She kept playing with her dress wrapping it around her hand. then suddenly her hand slip right through the seam connecting the skirt to the top of the dress. she didn't know what to do. My mom was able to fix the dress in between the wedding and the reception and Alissa was so appreciative and kept thanking my mom. My mom's sewing job held up for the rest of the day, but it did not matter much because by the end of the night she was covered in chocolate from the chocolate fountain. I have many more memories of Alissa that I will forever get to keep with me and I am comforted to know that she is in a better place and I know she is up there waiting for the rest of us to join her if we live our life right. I love you Alissa and will miss your sweet smile.

The rest of our not so fun vacation

Before we left California we were able to get a five generation picture.
Addi got her picture take in great grandmas bowl by her fire place just like her mommy did when she was a baby.
Addi had one more good laugh from great grandma in the airport right before we left. We did not relize that we would be seeing them again real soon.
Be prepared for some more airport drama. We got to the airport to find out that our plane was going to be delayed by half an hour. No big deal we have had worse. Before we passed through security they anounced that it was going to be delayed even more but we had to pass through security by 8 because that is when the security closes. So Addi and I said farewell to great grandpa and grandma and passed through seurity where we got a pat down because I had a sleeping baby in the sling and didn't want to wake her up by taking it off (I wore the sling through security in the other 2 airports with no problem this airport was just being picky). When we were waiting in the boarding area for our plane they anounced that there were some intoxicated indivduals on our plane coming from vegas that had to be kicked off so they would let us know when our plane left vegas. I then recieved a call from my aunt that my little brother and sister had been in a car accident on their way home from lake powell with their mom, step dad, half brother and two family friends but we didn't know any details. I then heared from my dad that he was on his way to the hospital to where they were being life flighted. My dad was on his way to vegas to pick me up from the airport but turned arounfd when he heard about the accident. I was now left to the task of finding another ride from the airport. I called my mother-in-law who aranged for her brother who lives in vegas to come pick me up. Not to long later I recieved a call from my grandmother who said that Alissa, my sister, Tyler, use to be my step brother, and Darren, my sister's step father did not survive the crash and the original information that my father recieved that they were being life flight was incorrect. Shortly after that call my phone died. I was alone in an airport with my thankfully sleeping baby not knowing when I was going to be leaving with my 7 year old sister dead and 10 year old brother in the hospital. Just a warning to all of you never travel with me if you have been reading my blog you know something always goes wrong. Well the plane finally got there I made it to Vegas and to Jared's uncles house was able to get a few hours sleep before then renting a car and driving to Utah.
This is Addi with my brother when we were with my littler brother at his house a couple of days after the crash. It is 3:30 in the afternoon and Addi has yet to take a nap. Needless to say I left her with my my the rest of the week. My brother was fine only a few scraps and bruises. My Dads whole family came out for the funeral that was on friday. Jared was able to fly out for a couple of days, but I still had to fly out of vegas that following monday and as you can guess not a good experience. On sunday afternoon I had driven down to St. George to stay the night at my mother in law's house. I was up all night throwing up. For some reason nursing Addi just made it worse. I had to get up monday mornig still feeling awful drive down to Vegas drop off the rental car and get to the airport. It was fairly smoothly for feeling like I was going to barf any second until we hit security. I had told them that I had water in the diaper bag to mix with formula just like I had everyother flight we had taken in the last month. Well my diaper bag was picked to be search. The security guy said that I couldn'thave the water because it was not nursery water. He said I should have mixed up the formula before passing through security. They had no problem when I passed through that same security line 2 weeks before and I have only seen nursery water come in gallons and I wasn't about to carry around a gallon of water. If I had mixed up the formula before passing through security it would have been no good by the time I needed it. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal but I was under alot of stress hadn't had much sleep and couldn't breast feed or I would throw up. The guy then proceeded to tell me I had the option of checking it in my luggage. This didn't sit well with me. Crying I yelled what good is it going to do in my checked luggage grabbed my diaper back and stormed off. I hope the guy felt bad for making me cry and I am glad they just let me go and didn't hold me for further searching because I made a seen. I made it to my gate bought a new bottle of water and got on the plane. Addi was just fine on the plane and a nice man that was sitting next to us helped me carry my bags off the plane. We are both home safe now and I hope that things can get back to some what normal.

Happy Forth of July

Don't I look so happy to be all dressed up for the 4th of July
Today we went swimming in Great great Grandma Hawthorne's pool
I prefered to watch from the side of the pool
After swimming we went to Great Great grandma's and had a tea party (pictured Bock, Keili, Mason and Taylor having tea (water))
This is Great Great Grandma Hawthorne
Isn't Grandpa silly
After swimming, tea party and a nap we had a BBQ at Great Grandma Keep's and great grandpa blew up the bouncy house. I loved it and got mad when mom took me inside because it was too cold, but I got to go back out when I got cloths on.
I hope your 4th of July was as fun as ours was!

Avila Beach

Today we went to Avila beach. Mommy and Aunt Baylee went boogy boarding and there was a seal swimming in the water right by them. I hate the beach. There was sand everywhere and because mommy put sunscreen on me the sand stuck to me. The wind was blowing which made the sand even worse. Finally mom put me back in my car seat with a towel covering me and I went to sleep. When we finally left the beach I got a bath and then we went downtown to farmers market. I liked that a lot better than the beach. I liked looking around at all the people. I have never seen so many people in one place. Mommy bought some avacados and grapefruit and we got frozen yougurt.

Montana De Oro

Daddy yesterday we went to Montana De Oro (thats the rocky beach that you went to with mommy. Grandpa carried me in the carrier again when we hiked down to the sandy part. There was a big sand doon that we got to run down. Then we found all sorts of creatures in the tide pools. We found crabs, starfish, sea urchins, jelly fish that looked like giant snot balls, and birds. We walked along the beach popping all the sea weed and I fell asleep. Then we hiked back to the rocky beach and found all sorts of shells and rocks. We had to leave when aunt baylee decided that she had to go swimming and jumped in the ocean with all of her cloths on. (the tide took her shoe and she went after it and a wave came and tried to take her out as well).

Last night great aunt Leslee came with uncle Will and cousins Brock and Keili. I tried to stay up to meet them, but I fel asleep about 5 min before they go here.

Hiking in San Simeon

Today we went hiking and got to go see the elephant seals. Grandpa carried me when we went hiking. I did not like the elephant seals they don't do anything but lay there and throw sand on them. I cried until finally we left.

Mommy's new look

Daddy mommy dyed her hair (don't worry she didn't cut it) and she got a pedicure and manicure with grandma. Notice how she didn't have her right pinkie finger painted so that I can still suck on it.
Toe nails with cute purple flower finger nails with matching purple flower and unpainted pinkie finger Mommies new hair
