Minority Wins!

Lucky for you Ann your votes had no say in where we end up. We will be moving to Hartford, Ct (University of Connecticut) in June and we couldn't be happier. Sure Ohio State intrigued me with its lavish pay and Texas lured me with its warm weather, but there is so many great things about moving to the northeast. And it is true that Connecticut has been bombarded with storms and is cold, but we survived 4 years in Iowa with tornadoes, floods, ice storms, and record low temps of -29 before wind chill, so we can survive a couple more years of cold weather. Besides we wanted an adventure and to live somewhere different which is why we applied to schools out there in the first place. Jared's favorite Aunt and Uncle live just over an hour away (I can say that because as far as I know they are the only aunt and uncle that check our blog). We get to live near NYC without actually living in the city so people will be more likely to come visit us, because not many people came and visited us while we have been in Iowa. Plus the people there really loved Jared. They made a special interview date just for him since he couldn't make their normal day,and who doesn't like to be loved. And lastly I know that we are supposed to go there. Last night when we were saying our prays I felt like we were going to match to UCONN, but thought it was because secretly that's where I wanted to go, and besides I took this picture just so I would have a picture to use just incase we matched there and I don't have a picture of any of the other places.

It's UCONN!!!

Sick House

It has not been a fun couple of days. Addi has been throwing up since Tuesday. She has still been acting ok just can't keep anything down. Then this morning both Jared and I woke up sick and the three of us have not left the bedroom except to go to the bathroom. Addi only threw up twice today and has managed to keep a few ounces of formula down so I think she is starting to feel better. I just hope that Jared and I are not sick for 3 days. I have a lot of laundry to caught up on since between throwing up and the blow out diapers I have had to change Addi's clothes on average 5 times a day. So I would advises that unless you want a very un fun way to loose some weight fast than you should stay away from our house.

Busy Girl

Addi is a very busy girl. She does not hold still for 2 seconds and she is getting into everything. She doesn't want to take naps anymore. Friday she only took one half hour nap all day and then today I put her down for a nap and then I was in my bedroom playing around on the computer and thought I could hear Addi's rainforest toy going off, but I thought I was just hearing things but then when I got up to go take a shower and passed by her down I knew it was her toy so I peeked in to see if she was a wake. She was awake and standing in her crib. She had leaned over and was grabbing things off the bed next to her crib. She hadn't stopped crying because she fell asleep she had just found something to entertain herself. Do you think it is time to lower the mattress on her crib? Here are a few pictures of our busy from this week.
Addi loves it when Dede comes over to play. Can't you tell by her face?
Addi teasing Tito while he is in time out in the laundry room.
Playing with the toys after storytime at the library.
The only nap she took on Friday in mama's bed with her bottle. (don't tell daddy mommy let her fall asleep with her bottle)
Helping (or maybe not) daddy fix the dryer.
Bundled up in her bear suit from great grandma Keep. It was -25 degrees and -45 degrees with wind chill Thursday morning.
Addi coming from causing trouble in the bathroom. I can't leave her for 2 seconds.
Eating a banana so we can fatten her up.

Little smart girl

Addi is now nine months old and had her check up this morning. She weighed 16 1/2 pounds and was almost 28 in long which is only the 10% for weight and 50% heights. The doctor was a little worried, but she was sick last week and didn't eat much so we have to go back in a month to make sure she is growing. On a brighter note her head circumference is still in the 90% and developmentally she is a head of the game. She is very smart. She can now say 4 words Dada (daddy), TT (tito), doft (soft), and uh-oh. She even know what they mean. When ever she sees Tito she says doft, doft and moves her hand like she is petting him (we are always telling her to be soft when she pets Tito since she likes to pull his hair). She also likes to drop things just so she can say uh-oh. Sometimes if she sees something on the ground she says uh-oh because someone must have dropped it. She knows how to play paddy cake, how big is Addi, how to give you 5 and she loves to clap her hands. Whenever other people are clapping or someone says yeah she starts to clap and the other day I was dancing for her for some exercise and she clapped for me. Addi is not much of a cuddly girl she always wants to see what is going on, but while she was sick last week all she wanted to do was cuddle especially with her daddy. Now that she is feeling better she still is a little cuddly. The last few nights she has woken up crying in the middle of the night. She isn't hungry or anything she just wants m to pick her up and she goes just cuddles up to me and goes back to sleep. I guess she is starting her seperate anxiety phase hope it doesn't last to long.

Where will we be moving in June?

Jared has applied for a dental pediatric residency. We decided to not stay here and take our chances with the match. Jared has finished his interviews and turned in his rank list and now we just have to wait until Jan 26th to see where we will be going. I have put a poll on our side bar so you can all guess where you think we will be going. I can't tell you who we ranked what so the list is not in order rank order.
