Let it Snow

I know my midwest friends feel they have it bad with the snow there, but you got nothing on New England. The snow is getting ridiculous. We got are first big storm right after Christmas and we have had 2 storms a week ever since.
These first pictures were taken after the first storm back in December. The snow is up to my thigh and along the road where they plowed it is taller than me.
Our deck is almost completely filled with snow. There have only been a couple of times we have ventured out because it has been so cold. Now it is warming up but then is rained and froze so all of our lovely snow is now covered in a sheet of ice.
This is my view out our kitchen window. Snow and ice.
It was so cold in our house so we hung blankets up over our big window which helped, but I swear it made me depressed. I didn't clean the house all week so our house was a mess which made me more depressed, so I finally just took the blanket down.
One day when it was snowing it was actually above 30 degrees so we hurried out side for a little adventure and to get some pictures of Aidan in the snow. He had not been out in the snow yet. He did not like laying in the snow, but he was o if he was sitting up. He hates his snow suit because he can't move in it and he is very mobile these days.
Addi had to bring her camera too. She was also the leader of our snow adventure. She lead us over snow mountains and all over rescuing animals just like Diego.
Addi loves to caught the snow flakes in her mouth. She asks all the time to go outside, yet she insists on wearing shorts. Silly girl.
It has been so bad that we have been able to have dad home a couple of days. It had to be really bad for daddy to stay home. Someone please tell me why dentist are essential state employees. Other state employees have at least one day a week off this last month.
Mommy likes when daddy is home because she gets to take a nap. Mommy was really tired. Addi took advantage and covered me in stickers.
This last week we finally saw the light and maybe we will go all week without a snow day so we can get out and actually make it to playgroup or storytime this week.

I can't believe how much snow you've gotten! We've only had one big storm here this winter in Iowa!

I love the picture of Addi with her camera. At least you were able to find some joy in the snow and take the kiddos out!
